MGA PAGKAIN PARA SA PUSO

HETO ang listahan ng pagkaing mabuti sa ating puso at ugat. Damihan ang pagkain nito para maging healthy.


1. Matatabang isda tulad ng tuna, tamban, tilapia, sardinas at salmon. 
Sagana ito sa omega-3 fatty acids na nagpapaluwag ng ugat sa puso at utak.


2. Oatmeal.
May sangkap itong omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, potassium, vitamin Bs, calcium at fiber. Kapag kumain ka ng oatmeal bawat umaga, siguradong malaki ang ibababa ng iyong cholesterol. Subukan ninyo.


3. Saging. 
May bagong kasabihan na “Two bananas a day will keep the doctor away.” May potassium, vitamin C, tryptophan at carbohydrates ang saging. Mahalaga ito sa pasyenteng may altapresyon at umiinom ng maintenance na gamot sa puso. Pero ang saging talaga ay para sa lahat.


4. Kamatis, karrots, kamote at kalabasa. 
Ang 4Ks na ito ay mataas sa beta-carotene, lycopene, vitamin C at potassium. Maganda ito sa mata at sa puso.


5. Monggo beans.
Mataas ito sa protina, vitamin B, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, calcium at fiber. Pampalakas ito ng katawan at abot-kaya pa!


6. Mani, tulad ng almonds at walnuts. 
Ang mani ay may good fats, vitamin E, magnesium at fiber. May tulong ito sa puso, ugat at balat natin. Kumain ng isang dakot lang at hindi isang bowl. Piliin iyung mababa sa asin (low-salt).


7. Tofu, tokwa at soy milk. 
Mataas ang mga ito sa protein, niacin, folate, calcium at potassium. Ang protina ng tokwa ay mas healthy at hindi nakatataba kumpara sa protina ng karneng baboy at baka.


8. Spinach at broccoli. 
May sangkap ito na lutein, vitamin Bs, magnesium, potassium, calcium at fiber. Kung si Popeye ay lumalakas sa spinach, subukan din natin kumain ng spinach. Hindi ako nagbibiro. Mabuti ito sa tiyan, katawan at puso. Nagpapasaya pa ito at pinapaganda ang ating emosyon.


9. Bawang (Garlic). 
Ang bawang ay may sangkap na allyl sulfides na tumutulong magpababa ng ating kolesterol at blood pressure. Lutuin ng bahagya ang 2-3 pirasong bawang. Huwag sunugin dahil mawawalan ito ng epekto. Mag-ingat lang sa pananakit ng sikmura sa sobrang pagkain ng hilaw na bawang.


10. Dark chocolate. 
May espesyal na sangkap na res veratrol at flavonoids ang ma itim na tsokolate. May posibilidad na ang resveratrol ay puwedeng makapagpabata sa atin. Mas healthy ang dark chocolate kumpara sa milk cho colate, na puro gatas at ma baba sa cocoa. Kumain ng 1-2 piraso lang para hindi tumaba.

Palitaw


Directions:

  1. 1
    Mix rice flour and ½ cup water well.

  2. Form into small balls and flatten with fingers to form into ovals.

  3. Boil 1 ½-quart in a pot.
  4. 4
    Drop in boiling water 2 at a time.

  5. Skim when they float and drop in cold water.

  6. Drain and roll in mixed grated coconut and sugar.

  7. Serve right away

Chanukah is the Jewish Thanksgiving! While each day we express our “hakarat hatov” (appreciation) for all of life’s brachot (blessings), Chanukah is the special time for the People of Israel to celebrate and say: THANK YOU!We thank God for the awesome miracles of Chanukah that took place over 2000 years ago. For the illuminating light of the Menorah. And for the Maccabees – a small Jewish army that defeated the Greeks. But what does this have to do with the People of Israel today? Are these ancient miracles relevant in today’s modern world?

HONEY AND CINNAMON

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. What it will do is what some call 'turning to sugar'. In reality, honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will "crystallize". When this happens loosen the lid, boil some water and sit the honey container in the hot water, but turn off the heat and let it liquefy naturally. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. This will kill the enzymes in the honey. 

Cinnamon and Honey 
Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: 
It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects for any kind of diseases. 

Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon, as researched by western scientists: 

HEART DISEASES: 
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply it on bread instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have already had an attack, when they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins. 

ARTHRITIS: 
Arthritis patients may take daily (morning and night) one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain. 

BLADDER INFECTIONS: 
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.. 

CHOLESTEROL: 
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: 
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses. 

UPSET STOMACH: 
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from its root. 

GAS: 
According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas. 

IMMUNE SYSTEM: 
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases. 

INDIGESTION: 
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals. 

INFLUENZA: 
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural 'Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu. 

LONGEVITY: 
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old..

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: 
When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms. 
PIMPLES: 
Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root. 

SKIN INFECTIONS: 
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections. 

WEIGHT LOSS: 
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet. 

CANCER: 
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month . 

FATIGUE: 
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week. 

BAD BREATH: 
People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day. 

HEARING LOSS: 
Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

Ginataang alimasag ( Crab in coconut milk)


Ingredients:

1/2 kilo fresh alimasag (talangka or crablets)
1 cup thick coconut milk
2 cups thin coconut milk
4 pcs jalapeño pepper
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, sliced
2 tbsp ginger, minced
6 pako (fern) leaves and stalks
1 cup ampalaya ( bitter melon)
1 cup squash
salt and pepper to taste

Ginataang Alimasag Procedure
1. Wash crablets thoroughly with tap water. Drain.
2. In a saucepan, put thin coconut milk. Add jalapeño pepper, garlic, onion and ginger. Let boil.
3. When the cream is boiling, add pako leaves and stalks,ampalaya and squash
4. Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Stir to prevent sauce from clotting.
5. Pour in thick coconut milk. Add crablets. Simmer, stirring occasionally until sauce becomes thick and oily

My sweet potatoes soup with lentil



Ana's Chicken Fingers with coleslaw salad and dipping sauce

FOR THE CHICKEN FINGERS:
2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 3"-long-by-1"-wide strips
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. kosher salt
1 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
1½ tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. dry mustard powder ( i used mustard sauce)
1 cup flour
4 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups finely ground fresh breadcrumbs or panko
Canola oil, for frying

Make the chicken fingers: In a medium bowl, toss together chicken, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and mustard; set aside. Place flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs in 3 separate shallow dishes; set aside. Pour oil to a depth of 2″ into a 6-qt. Dutch oven; heat over medium-high heat until deep-fry thermometer reads 325°. Working in batches, coat chicken in flour, shake off excess, and dip in eggs; coat in breadcrumbs. Fry chicken until golden brown and crisp, about 3 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain. Repeat with remaining chicken..











Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large head cabbage, finely shredded  

Preparation:

Blend mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar and oil. Add onion powder, dry mustard, celery salt, pepper, lemon juice, half-and-half and salt. Stir until smooth. Pour coleslaw dressing over shredded cabbage in a large bowl and toss until cabbage is well coated. Keep coleslaw refrigerated.



INGREDIENTS

FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE:
1½ cups mayonnaise
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp. roughly chopped dill
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp. dry mustard powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Make the dipping sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise with the honey, dill, mustard powder, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper, and stir together until smooth; set honey-dill dipping sauce aside.

Parsley

Years pass by and our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt, poison and any unwanted entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and this needs to undergo cleaning treatments and how are we going to overcome this?
It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley (MALLI Leaves)and wash it clean
Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep it inside refrigerator to cool.
Drink one glass daily and you will notice all salt and other accumulated poison coming out of your kidney by urination also you will be able to notice the difference which you never felt before.
Parsley is known as best cleaning treatment for kidneys and it is natural!

SPECIAL PUTO

Puto is a steamed rice cake popular in the country of the Philippines..Puto is usually eaten as a dessert but can also be eaten for breakfast dipped in a cup of hot native chocolate.Puto is a versatile seamed ckae since you can incorporate pandan,mango and other flavorings depending on the flavor you want to eat.


Ingredients: (To make about 25 puto special.)

2 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup water
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 piece egg, beaten
cheddar cheese, cut into strips for topping
salted egg, cut into strips for topping





Cooking procedures:


In a big bowl, sift all purpose flour, baking powder and sugar. Slowly whisk and blend in water, milk, egg and margarine until fully blended. Fill the cupcake moulds with batter to nearly full. Top with strips of cheese and/or salted egg. Repeat the process for the rest of the cupcake moulds. Arrange filled moulds in a steamer, place cheesecloth in between each tray to avoid water drips. Put enough water and 1 tbsp of vinegar on the steamer and steam for 20-25 minutes. Remove from tray and mould.
